My #1 pick from the album.

Just for you ;)

Can I get uhhhhhh Love Sick Deluxe hold the pickles…. please

Signed to Cactus Jack Records, Don Toliver rose to popularity with his verse on CAN’T SAY in Travis Scott’s album ASTROWORLD. With the launch of his third album, Love Sick (Deluxe), Don Toliver establishes himself to be on par with the star-studded artists in his latest drop. Love Sick (Deluxe) takes you through all the highs (and lows) of a toxic relationship without all the yelling or having to change your phone number when it’s done.

The twenty-track deluxe album was released (after much anticipation) on February 24, 2023, and features four extra tracks. Don Toliver mindfully crafts an album as his soothing voice and mellow bars expose us to the rollercoaster of falling in and out of love with someone who is bound to leave us dismantled; probably right where we started and wanting to do it all over again.

The second title in the album ‘Embarrassed’ features Travis Scott and brings a vibe you can expect from the Cactus Jack head honcho and his right-hand man. The duo sings about how their extravagantly indulgent lifestyle attracts women. We see Don Toliver feel some type of way halfway through the song as he sings “It ain't me 'cause I'm standin' right here” in reference to someone catching his eye but being occupied with another man. The mellow beats reflect the equally mellow bars that Don Toliver and Travis Scott are laying down to create a perfect track to get ready to before an exciting night out.

The album transitions through various stages of getting intimate with a (used to be) stranger with tracks like ‘LoveSickness’ and ‘Leave the Club’ featuring Lil Durk and GloRilla. Track twelve ironically titled ‘Honeymoon’ marks a turning point in the chemistry of the album as Don Toliver sings “I love you but I can hate you at the same time”. The beats are now slightly aggressive as he switches from singing to rapping signifying the point where the previously lovely relationship is starting to go south. It is through this track Don Toliver steps out of the lover boy phase and is back to toxic ways which is evident with the next track titled ‘Private Landing’ featuring Justin Bieber and the creator of the book of misogyny Future himself.

Track sixteen titled ‘If I had’ featuring Charlie Wilson showcases the low phase after the end of any relationship with Don Toliver in his feels. “If I had your love in my hand, Keep it forever.” He reminisces of what was and what could have been through this track followed by track seventeen titled ‘Company Pt. 3’. This phase, which is devastating for most of us, is short-lived in the album.

Track eighteen titled ‘Bus Stop’ featuring Brent Faiyaz identifies most as the healing stage post heartbreak with the album helping us get over what was and look at what will be. Don Toliver prepares us to fall in love, get our hearts broken and repeat the process all over again without even leaving the room.
